Soul Alchemy

My tumblr had gone through a mustitude of quasi pages. Trying to figure out what i wanted it to be. A journal of my music journey is what i had landed on. So as of recently. I decided to use this page as more of a spiritual journey i had been going through. And yes it will talk about music too. Its all relative.

I feel like sharing. Im in a musical mood. This is one of the first things i saw that made me want to be a singer. Beside being absolutely in awe of Marvin Gaye. Something about the song and the way the dancers were moving. It touched something in me. Wanted to share

So i wanted to share. Besides writing new songs. i am trying to fix up songs i recorded and essentially loved but it was missing something. This is a track i recorded on. You havent heard it. Its a feel good soul song. Its going to be a duet. But i thought i would share a version of it. Yes the vocal are a little shady maybe. But you get what the song is about and the lyrics. feel free to listen and leave some impressions. project is coming along. i see the end in sight but my new philosophy is not to race towards the end. im under no label pressure. i can take my time. make sure its right. so i am but thought id share.

My So Called Life

Yes its amazing. Your job changes. ~~So do the people you work for and with~~. Its not enjoyable but for the first time its what it is. I see it as a job and i just do it to pay bills. Funny. It was fun. almost so good you didnt ever want to leave it. But now its not. ITs taken my joy of singing and warped it. I hate singing there. I hate that im expeceted to sing there. I just want to make my own music and sing that. Im just gonna hold on to my friends. and Keep it moving.

My views have changed. Its a job. I go and get it done. I go home.

Nina simone is really growing on me. I wasn’t a giant fan but recently i started getting into her music. Wow! Its truly a singer for mature music lovers. You will listen to ella fitzgerald and easily get the appeal. You will be blown away by Carmen McRae and Sarah Vaughan musicality.

Lena HOrne here and there. And Billie Holiday cause you’re suppose to like her. Oh and Nancy Wilson who can sing a line like no one. But Nina Simone i could never get into. Then I discover “He Needs Me”. And its the first time i listened to a song that instantly shot me back to a time where it really related to me. Its a brillant beautiful song. With a key change at the end that blows you away.
